The Dubai Mall, one the world’s largest shopping malls in the world, is part of the 20-billion-dollar Burj Dubai complex. The centerpiece of the mall is the gigantic aquarium tank, with the capacity to hold 10 million liters (2,64 million gallons) of water. The aquarium has more than 33,000 living animals including over 400 sharks and rays combined. It officially earned the Guinness World Record for the world’s “Largest Acrylic Panel”. The panel measures 8.3 by 32.88 meter (27 by 108 feet) and is 75 centimeters (30 inches) thick beating Japan’s Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium to the punch.

Training Lionfish to feed on market pawn

To train the Lionfish to feed on market pawn is not that difficult.

I sugguest the following:

1. Always buy a juvenile to start... It is more easier to train a juvenile than an adult.
2. Start off with live freshewater shrimp and reduce the amout through days....
3. Always use the same methods of feeding. For me, I always use a white spoon when feeding the live food. Donot let the fish hunt for the food. They will not take food from the spoon if you do that. In long run, it is trained to recognise the white spoon and take the food from the spoon for my case, not to hunt for the food.
4. Do not keep any small fishes in the tank together with the Lionfish. The lionfish will eat the small fish when it is hunger. Then you cannot train them at all.
5. Now, my lionfish can eat Hikari frozen mysis shrimp.

Third Largest Aquarium in the World - Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

In this series, I will count down the largest aquariums in the world from the third to the largest.

Third largest aquariums in the world is Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (1,98 million gallons). It is located within the Ocean Expo Park in Japan and was opened in 2002.

The main tank of the aquarium, called the Kuroshio Sea, holds 7,5 million liters (1,981,000 gallons) of water and features an acrylic glass panel measuring 8.2 by 22.5 meters (27 by 74 feet) with a thickness of 60 centimeters (24 inches), the largest such panel in the world when the aquarium was opened. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept alongside many other fish species in Kuroshio Sea. As of July 2010, there have been a total of four manta rays born in the aquarium.

Feeding non-aggressive fishes in main tanks full of tangs and angels

I come across one articles on Mandrain diner  <http://www.melevsreef.com/mandarin_diner.html> on how to feed Mandrain fish in the tanks full of voracious Tangs. I found it very useful to feed any non-agressive fishes in main tank full of large tangs and angels.

All you need is a glass jars that is big enough for the small non-aggressive fish to get in but not the large fishes. You just put the food inside the jar.  This is how it looks like in the tank (from Melevsreff.com).
